Intro: Last week I spent five days in Denver with some pretty amazing people. The 2019 OLC Innovate conference, OLC stands for the Online Learning Consortium, is a great conference for educators, instructional designers, technologists, and, honestly, pretty much anybody interested in higher education. The sessions are informative and entertaining, the people running the thing are considerate and know what they're doing, and the people you meet there are connections you'll have permanently going forward. Heck, some of my best academibuddies I met there two years ago and, each time we see each other at the conference, it's like it was just yesterday. This s a theme you'll hear in this episode. Speaking of which, let me explain a bit about how this episode is going to work. I wanted to get some different perspectives and feelings about the conference, so I asked four people with very different roles. Each of these conversations is pretty brief, at least by this podcast's standards for conversations, and follow the same basic format: intro, background, work, conference. As for the folks you're about to hear, first up is Kate Sonka, Assistant Director of Academic Technology at the College of Arts & Letters at Michigan State University. Next is Tina Rettler-Pagel, Faculty and Chief Online Learning Officer at Madison College in Madison Wisconsin. After Tina is Keegan Long-Wheeler, Educational Technologist in the Office of Digital Learning at the University of Oklahoma. Finally, Veronica Armour, Instructional Design Specialist and Instructor in the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University. If you're a first-time conference goer (which many students are), this is a great option. If you were there and you just want to hear these awesome folks talk, that's cool, too. Enjoy. --- Transcript: coming soon! --- Outro Once again, thank you for listening to this little podcast-thing of mine.
